A nickname for Señora de los Dolores or Lady of Sorrows is turned into a new name for an underground Cuban speakeasy in South Jakarta area. The whole concept of the identity for Espíritu Y Libación is sorrow, since nothing fits alcohol better than sorrow. The L and O in the logo is composed from Lady Dolores’ mournful eyes after the seven sorrows. Everything from the wall painting to the environment pulls you into an obscurely emotional journey once you’ve stepped down to this underground joint.
